Asbestos containing materials are often mistaken for non-asbestos containing materials. Bulk analysis can provide peace of mind for anyone that may have suspect asbestos containing materials in their workplace, private residence etc.

Suspect asbestos containing materials should be taken under controlled conditions. Taking samples yourself is not recommended as there is risk of fibre release during the sampling process.

Samples are analysed using Polarised Light Microscopy (PLM) as defined in the guidance document HSG248 Asbestos: The Analysts’ Guide for Sampling, Analysis and Clearance Procedures.
